What is the optimal tax system ?
We not-so-recently discussed this on ##economics.
It ends in several arguments :
- Flat tax versus progressive / regressive tax
- Sales tax versus Income tax
- Also property taxes (land tax) has been discussed, as it is argued to be an unavoidable tax
- Other taxes, we have not discussed include Inheritance tax, social engineering taxes
pavlicek is a proponent of a national [Sales tax], as it incentivizes saving and investment. teralaser thinks its best to perhaps argue for this as tax at creation and destruction.
